Why install a dedicated EV charger?
You can technically trickle-charge an EV from a standard power point, but it’s slow and running a high load through a general circuit for hours isn’t ideal. A dedicated wall charger (often called an EVSE) charges several times faster, includes proper safety protection, and is wired on its own circuit designed for the job.
